We did it!!! We made it through the entire four weeks of our Cake Decorating 1 Cake Course! WAHOO! The last week, we made a cake called a Rose Bouquet. We actually made the roses the week prior, and then let them harden up until this week's class. During our last class time, we gave our double layer cakes a crumb coat, and then frosted them smooth. Buffy and I like a lot of the same styles and designs, and we made our cakes with similar patterns. I liked the white on white dots, because it looks like antique hobnail glass or milk glass as my Grandma calls it. So pretty. I decided that we should have this cake for my birthday coming up so that John wouldn't have to bake or buy a birthday cake! Yummy! So, I made my favorite kind, and made my roses, PURPLE (my fave) of course and we are saving it until then!

I am so very glad I took this course. I learned so much, and have a lot more confidence to do my own cakes. I will get great practice this next week for my first official design for Jackson's birthday. I'll be sure to blog a picture of it. I hope it turns out!
