Yesterday was a bit of a long day. I volunteered at school in Jackson's class, went to lunch with a dear friend, and then home. That was just in time to have a few minutes of quiet, and then greet a feverish 6 year old off of the bus! The boys haven't been feeling well most of the week, starting with Noah. He was miserable, and I felt bad for him! A while later, Lori, a friend of mine, called and invited me to the Casting Crowns concert. They're a pretty popular Christian band, and they just happened to be performing here in Troy! I had really wanted to go, but ruled it out earlier in the week! I felt bad too, because dear Lori, has invited me to go to like 4 different COOL things, and I am always unable to go! I told my cute husband, and he said, "You should go with her! Just the girls, and I will take care of Daniel. I can handle it!" Words to a mom's ears!!! So, I got spontaneous, and we went. We had good seats, since we just walked up and bought them. The concert was FABULOUS!!!! Just what I needed, to be honest! The messages were heartfelt, the music was WONDERFUL, and the company was fun too! After the concert, I wanted to look into getting some CD's for us to listen to as a family (and maybe a cute T-shirt for me!) Many people had left by then. But, as we were leaving with our purchases, an arena worker casually passed by and said that we could get autographs if we were interested. Hmmmmmm, that might be cool! So, Lori & I waited in line and got to meet EVERY MEMBER of the band, shake their hands, have them sign our CD's, and have our picture taken! I of course, didn't bring my camera!!!! UGH! But, Lori saved the day, and had hers in her purse! She is going to forward me the picture later this weekend, and I will post it then. I'd like to just say that these were the most genuine, kind, open people. You would think they'd rush you along to get out of there, and they didn't! They EACH took the time to say, "Hi! My name is Mark (or what their name was) and then shook our hand, asked our name. They also said, "Thank you for having us in your town, and coming to our concert!" How gracious was that?!?! I was quite impressed by them, and would be PROUD to have my sons listening to solid, music that speaks THE VOICE OF TRUTH! Thanks Lori for the spontaneous invite! Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to hear a message you had intended for me. I heard you!
