On Tuesday night, the entire Kindergarten class was having their spring musical. Daniel was so super excited and said they'd been working really hard on their program, and that what they were singing was a "secret". Our family loaded up the car, drove to the school, battled to get 4 seats together, and then sat, and waited. And, waited. And waited. Finally the program was beginning!
It cracks me up, but at the beginnig of EVERY event at Miami East, the principal conducts a "waving session" for the kids and parents. They take a minute and count to 3, then tell everyone to "wave" to each other before the program starts, so that picture takers, and people aren't distracted. Especially the kid while they are performing! The look on Daniel's face is so cute!
We settled in for the program to start, and.........It lasted an entire 10 minutes! It took more time getting ready, driving there, and waiting than the actual program took! They sang 5 Mother Goose songs and were done! Even though it was so fast it was a cute program. You know, every program has that ONE kid that just isn't doing what he should be doing. Right? Well, much to my chagrin, THAT KID has been one of OUR KIDS! Jackson was notorious for being silly during the program. And, well, Daniel is turning out to be just like his older, middle brother. He sang every song, word for word like he should. He looked so cute up on that back riser! Except for one minor detail.....he stood SIDEWAYS the entire time, except for the last song! Little freakie kid!
Why he did that I have absolutely no idea. A friend told me this advice once....."You know, every program has to have that one kid. And, well, it might as well be YOUR kid, because they are cute, and funny, and they make people laugh! Enjoy it!" Hmmmmm, I don't know what I think about this advice, but I guess instead of getting uptight, I might as well laugh. That's my motto lately, anyway. Years from now it'll be funny, so why waste time waiting to laugh? Carpe Diem, I guess!

Oh I could so see him doing that!!!! I think he is definently cute up there even if he is standing sideways, maybe that was his better picture taking side =) Bummer on the length of the program.
