I think March is the BEST month to celebrate a birthday in. Of course, that's because when I was born. However, my middle son, Jackson, thinks it's the best month too! Guess why? Yep! You guessed it! He celebrates his birthday then too! (His brothers have different answers, of course, about which month THEY think is better, however!) This month we were full of celebrations. After my week long celebrating, we blended right into celebrating Jackson's 9th birthday. We had his friend party the Saturday before his birthday and the weekend after mine. WHEW! Can I tell you that he has some WILD LITTLE FRIENDS??? You'd think I'd have learned after the older kid! LOL! Anyhow, Jackson decided not to have a party someplace like a venue you'd have to pay for. He wanted an old fashioned stay at home party complete with friends sleeping over from his class! In total, we ended up having 13 kids (including our own) for the party, and then 3 friends sleep over. (I DID learn my lesson from having all the party kids sleepover with the said older child!)
Our theme was baseball, and it was so much fun! We had the Jacksonville Wizards (in honor of Harry Potter) and the Danielsburg Pirates (Pirates of the Caribbean).
We had hackey sack baseball/spoon relays, Hey Batter, Batter relays, pinatas, guess the sunflower seeds in the jar, and much more! Everyone had a great time.
I even baked the cake and decorated it all by myself! WAHOO! We served dinner baseball park style complete with hot dogs, nachos, and popcorn, or course! Everyone had a fun time.
Then, the 3 overnight kids spent the night. Can, I just tell you that one child in particular was completely WILD???? The following picture of me pretty much sums up what happens when there are a TON of kids, and a wild pinata session!
On the actual day of his birthday this week, it was a school day. But, Jackson took in treats (Grippz Cheeze Its) for his class, had a special Maxed Out Lunchable for his lunch. After school & homework, we opened presents from our family before his younger brother's spring program. Then, after that, my folks and my cousin's family came over to help celebrate. Jackson was a pretty excited kid this year, because he wanted Nerf guns so bad. Well, you can tell by the pics that he got his heart's desire! I think almost every kid at his party brought him some kind of Nerf gun something! They know their little buddy well!!!
And, of course Magic Tree House books (one of his fave series) and Nintendo DLS games were a high priority too. Wish granted. He even has some gift cards and cash to spend. What an excited little 9 year old to have $63.00 to use at the local Wal-Mart! Fun!
All in all, it was a wonderful day. I can't believe he's in his last year of single digits! Can you believe that he's already in the stages of planning for next year? I am exhausted! LOL! Happy Birthday Week Jacks! Watch out for those flying Nerf things!

Looks like a lot of fun. We will have to bring his present over, unless there is another celebration.
