Movie Review Weekend

Hello Friends!

I Love, love, love to go to the movies! I'm fortunate in that, my children love it too, and when he has a free minute, so does my cute hubby. This weekend was extra special, because I got to go to not one, but TWO movies that opened this weekend! The first was on Friday night with The Hubbs (a.k.a. John) LOL! He was ever so generous to take me to see the new Nicolas Cage movie, "Knowing" on Friday afternoon. I know, I know, most of you know that I am a bit OCD when it comes to Nicolas Cage! He is my favorite actor! So, this movie was kind of, well, INTENSE! I knew what it was about, but I wasn't quite prepared for the "deepness" of it's storyline! LOL! It was a GREAT movie!!! And, No, it wasn't just because of the leading role! LOL! It was good, because it was a bit mysterious, a bit philisophical, theological, and well, just interesting. It was also, in my humble opinion, a bit scary. I keep running the story line over and over in my mind, and I really have been thinking about it. I would recommend it, of course, but that's just my own opinion.

The other movie I got to see was with my cute cousin, Tracy. We went to see the new Julia Roberts and Clive Owen movie, "Duplicity". I kind of knew what this was about and it looked like a typical chick flick. That's why Tracy and I went together. John & Jason probably wouldn't be interested. The previews were great, yum-o popcorn, swedish fish, Coca-Cola. I mean, we completely SPLURGED (which we NEVER do at the concessions). We even went to the EVENING showing of this movie! Not the matinee like we're prone to do! Well, folks, that was the high point! Hee hee! The movie was, well, in a word......CONFUSING!!! TONS of flashbacks, and well, I was in the mood to be entertained, not THINK! I had used all of my THINKING SKILLS at the Nic Cage flick the afternoon before!!!! LOL! I thought it was just me, but Tracy agreed it was a little different. We did get stalked by some annoying people at the theater and beyond. But that is for another blog, another day. We did get to go to our fave coffe place, Night Sky, and have a Cafe Caramel Creme (low-fat of course!) and visit. There was a few local guys singing, and that was okay, but too loud if you want to talk. And, if Tracy & I can't talk over it, you know it was pretty noisy! Hee hee!

All in all it was a fun weekend! I wouldn't change a thing! Looking forward to our boys having a day off on Friday this week. Rumor has it we're going to hook up with the Frock Girls and see "Monsters vs. Aliens". I hope that movie doesn't have FLAHSBACKS! LOL!
