One of my favorite hobbies is reading. I have always loved it, and I always think it's a treat to get lost in a story, even today. Sometimes, I'll find an author that I absolutely love, and read everything they've written, but then I'm at a loss for what to read after that! I like when people recommend books they've enjoyed to me. I've found some of my favorite authors that way, like Nicholas Sparks, J.K. Rowling, Stephenie Meyer.....just to name a few. What I find kind of funny is where these recommendations come from, or how they come about. I am lucky to have passed on my love of reading for enjoyment to my two oldest sons. (We're not sure about Daniel yet, because he's just learning how to read. We shall see!) Jackson is enthralled right now with the Magic Tree House series. And, Noah is quite an ecclectic reader. He likes mysteries, and fantasy books like Harry Potter, the Charlie Bone series, and the American Chiller series. He has also been reading a trilogy by an author named Cornelia Funke. These are the Inkheart trilogies. I didn't know much about them, except that they were fairly long books, and there were 3 of them. Well, always in search of a good read, I have found that the books that are in the young adult section, like Harry Potter, the Twilight series, and even the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, are actually REALLY GOOD! Noah recommended I read Inkheart, the first in the trilogy. I did, and I just finished it! Let me tell you, that it's one of the BEST books I've read! If you liked the Harry Potter series, I think you'll like this one. It is hard to "predict" what's going to happen next, and the concept of the storyline is really cool. What would happen, if you could read aloud, the the characters literally came to life? It's an awesome book, and one I highly recommend! I'm off to start the 2nd book, called Inkspell. I hope it's as good as the first one! And, then, of course, I'll read the 3rd one too, which has a daunting title, named Inkdeath. If you get a chance, today take some time for YOU and curl up with a good book! It'll be worth it!
