Last night was week 2 of our Cake Decorating 101 Class. we were required to bring a 2 layer cake and 2 batches of homemade buttercream frosting. The theme of the class was Valentine's. As you can see, Buffy is quite the little mixer when she wants to be!
And well, with me, I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE frosting! Hee hee! (Right Tracy?!!) Of course, if you're going to make a complete fool of yourself by licking the excess icing, then you get it on your nose, and well, your friend will probably let you stay like that for a portion of the class. Well, only until she gets a lovely picture of it! LOL!
The results of our labor were really cute cakes, I have to say. Buffy's is the one with the valentine "face" on it, and mine is the one that is "Bee" themed, of course! Erica had a previous engagement, so hers wasn't made until today. But, hers is the one with the heart and the XO on it. Not bad for our first attempt! John even told me that mine looked "almost professional" and that it couldn't look officially professional until I had taken at least 3 classes! I guess next week will be the week!
No matter what our goodies look like, it's always fun to get together and be creative. As usual, there is LOTS of laughing, TONS of frosting, and a really good time together with friends!
