Passing an Afternoon

I am a planner. So, when it finally sunk in that Matt & Suzanne were HERE and spending 9 days with us, I was like, "OMG! What are we gonna DO for fun while they're here??" The wonderful things about our friends is that they don't care if they DO anything! Just spending time together doing life's mundane things is ENOUGH for them. I love that little detail about them! It lets me let go of some of my OCD control patterns! LOL! So, yesterday afternoon, after going to the grocery, Suzanne helped me cut and tie 2 fleece blankets I had bought months ago, and just hadn't had time to sit down and finish. Well, with fall in the air here, and a chill in the early mornings and evenings, I thought it was time to get that project completed. We sat together and talked and laughed, and cut and tied. Though to some, it wasn't the most spectacular way to spend a day of vacation, we had a good time. And, my blankets are finished! AND, best of all, each time I look at them, I'll remember our time together. My motto in life lately, is "Cheap Thrills." Noah assures me, "They're the best kind, Mom!" So true....so true!
