Family Hayride 2008

Daniel enjoying a yummy S'more!
Me setting my marshmallows ablaze, much to the concern of the other people at the campfire. I assure you, I like them this way. Quickly crunchy on the outside, and melty on the inside. YUM-O!!!!

Every year, I throw a "girls only" sort of party at my house. No husbands, no children, just girls. We have collectively christened this weekend, as the Wahini Weekend. All women who are invited & attend the Wahini are under the strictest rule, that "Whatever Happens at Wahini, Stays at Wahini". Basically, all of the fun, inside jokes, serious bonding, and confidentialy sharing all stay in this close knit atmosphere. It started in the summer 4 years ago, and usually has a tropical or flip flop theme. This year, however, I was talked into having it in the fall, my favorite time of year. Since I was changing when I had it, I decided to change up a bit more of it as well. The theme was OHIO STATE BUCKEYES (go bucks!) this year, and was basically a tailgate party. The Wahini is usually an overnighter on a Saturday night, and on the Friday night before, we do a "kick off" activity of sorts. This year, it was a family & friend hayride. And, the theme was changed from Wahini to "BUCKEYE BABES". Each "Babe" got to invite whoever she wanted to the hayride, eat S'mores, drink hot chocolate & cider and just have a good time. This year was a fun time, even though our hayride time got pushed back by an hour, and on top of that the driver was almost 30 minutes late from that time!!!! We laughed, sang, joked, and had a wonderful time.
