Christmas Baking 2009

The one mantra I had for myself and my family this holiday season, was simple, and low key. I am very pleased to say, that I was able to uphold this mantra, and will hopefully be carrying it on throughout the year of 2010! I got all of my shopping, wrapping, and mailing done EARLY so that when the kids got out for their 2 week Christmas break, I was able to relax, and enjoy their time with them. I LOVED IT!!!! One of the things we did as take an entire afternoon, and just bake, bake, bake. Each one of the kids picked a favorite cookie to make, and we went forward with that. Homemade chocolate chip cookies, Snickerdoodles, and frosted sugar cookies seemed to top the list. I also added in some zucchini bread, pumpkin bread, and hillbilly turtles. It was a fun day! I think the boys were most excited about the EATING of the cookies, and were found at one point chanting for cookies at the bar. Many thanks to my dear hubby for taking the pictures while we were having fun
