We have a huge mound of dirt out on the back part of our property. It came to be as we were adding on John's shop to our exisiting out building a couple of summer's ago. Originally, I thought it was a complete eyesore and couldn't wait for it to disappear. But, my three children saw it differently They saw it as their own personal amusement park. In a way, they were right. In the summer, it makes a great place for the boys to ride their bikes down. When it rains, and it's warm enough, they love to get their swim trunks on and do belly slides down the length of the mountain. Now it's winter time, and well, it makes the perfect place for SLEDDING! It's been pretty snowy here this past week, and a great set up for sledding. We haven't let the kids go, because it has been positively FRIGID here with windchills anywhere between -10 below to -30 below outside. But, today, it's above zero. Probably in the mid to upper 20's. So, after much begging and pleading, we let the boys get their snow stuff out and sled down their beloved "snow mountain". They bundled up and were so excited to frolic in the flakes today. I was inside keeping warm and trying to recuperate from the DWTS tour and I could hear them playing, laughing, yelling from inside the house. That is my favorite sound. The boys laughing and having a good time! I watched them from inside for a while, and couldn't resist trying out the new zoom lens my "Hubbs" got me for our anniversary. It worked great and the kids didn't even know I was taking their pictures. My faves of course, are the last two where the brothers are all helping each other along, and Noah is giving Daniel a ride back up to the house on the toboggan after they decided to come in. Such happy faces, all snow covered, full of fun and life. My heart is the warmest thing at my house today on this cold and frosty day.
