Creative Chaos at Waterstone Pottery

Last week, I was on vacation from the salon. It was nice to be able to relax and just spend some quality FUN time with the boys. As you saw from an earlier post, all 5 of us took a trip to Kings Island. On another day, the boys and I decided to let our creative energy flow at the local pottery place. We don't have anything nearly as fancy here in Troy, like "As You Wish" in Mesa, AZ, but we do have a tiny place that is hometown, and does the exact same thing! So, off we went for Subway (the boys favorite lunch spot of late) and then to paint. I wasn't sure if they'd like it or not. Being 5, Daniel was the most enthusiastic about it, and Noah just likes doing fun stuff, so they were all for it. Jackson was a little speculative, because he has claimed on many occassions that he just doesn't "like art". Whose child is this kid????? LOL! But, they were amazed at all of the choices they could pick from to paint for their own taste. Noah and Jackson decided to do their 3 initials and Daniel decided to paint a cat bowl. I opted for just a regular bowl. We did this on Tuesday, and the lady said they only fire on Mondays, so we ended up waiting a week for our wonderful masterpieces. In the end, Jackson said, he LOVED it and had so much fun and couldn't wait to do it again. He also said, the reason he didn't like art, was because at school they tell him what to do, and he doesn't get to decide. He really is just like his Mamma! I'm glad that we did this, and I'm especially glad that Jackson got to choose, and decided art is pretty cool in many different ways.

I really like Jackson's paint job. It looks irridescent! (is that how you spell that?!)
