The Boys of Summer 2008

Originally, this was what I wanted my first blog to showcase. We spent the majority of the first 1/2 of our summer at a baseball field of some kind. Noah played in the "Majors", Jackson in the "Midgets" and Daniel in his 1st year of T-ball. The 2 older boys traveled for their teams, which meant that sometimes, John and I had to split up and go two different directions to get them to their games. I have to admit that one of my very favorite things to do is watch these boys play baseball! WHAT FUN! They are all at various degrees of ability, and it's really amazing to watch them grow. Their stance and batting, catching, throwing, just EVERYTHING changes from year to year. They all did really well, and Jackson's team even ended up going to the championship game. They took 2nd place, and he was THRILLED with his trophy. Noah is getting better and better at his batting, and is really doing well in the outfield in right field. This year he even got to play 3rd base several times. Jackson was a "jack" of all trades, literally. Everywhere he played, he seemd to excel. He did outfield, catcher, 1st base, 2nd base & shortstop. His favorite place was 2nd base, which was what position he played to help his team go to the championships. He was a really great batter too, and he usually started off the lineup or was in the top 3 positions. Daniel just liked being old enough to play something on a team like his older brothers. He felt like a "big kid" for real! They were all great team players, and wonderful ball players. WAHOO!!! GO VIKINGS!
