A Pleasant Surprise.....

I was taking our annual Opening Day Baseball pictures a few weekends ago....and I looked across our yard to the field that runs along side our house, and saw a beautiful bunch of flowers growing. Purple ones....I love purple. As I neared the group of flowers, I realized they were irises. I was amazed that they were just growing in the strangest place, and I knew I hadn't planted them there. They were never there before.....I shot these photos of them.

After I snapped the pictures, I commented to John that these flowers were so pretty, and so unexpected. He replied, "They used to be in the big flower bed next to the house. But, you said you didn't like them where they were. So, I had them moved there when we redid the flower beds. I thought you might like them there so you could see them." I had forgotten about that! It has been almost 2 years ago since we did that! And, he was soooo right. I do love them there. And, they're so pretty. What a thoughtful and knowing hubby! Every time I see them, I will remember John and his thoughtful ways, which sometimes go overlooked in the hustle and bustle of each day. But on this day, I want to say it for everyone to see. I am lucky to have my husband in my life. These flowers are that reminder......
