It has been a long weekend. Friday night started off with our little black boxer, Hermione, biting Noah when he was doing his routine evening feeding of our dogs. I don't know what caused her to do this, but she did. And, not 5 minutes later, she bit him again! I love pets. But, I will not tolerate an animal that bites the people it lives with. John has her out in his shop right now with him while he's working. Ugh! It's so frustrating. I don't know what we're going to do with Hermione in the meantime. We promised Jackson we wouldn't make a definite decision until after Christmas. He wants John to keep her in the shop so he can still see her. It's very emotional and hard, but a decision has to be made, just the same. She just hasn't been herself exactly for a few weeks now. Weird.
Jackson is so tender hearted, and was devastated by our decision to have her go to John's shop. John was upset that Jackson was so upset, and told him that he could ask my parents for one of their dogs, since they had bred their boxers and had a litter of puppies Memorial Day weekend. My parents weren't able to get rid of 2 of the puppies, and have kept them, along with their other 2 dogs. So, they had a total of four. Well, Jackson & John talked me into calling my parents, and asking if we could have one of their puppies on a trial run. All 3 boys are in Heaven of course, because this puppy is darling, and laid back, and sweet.
I am wondering, what the heck we're thinking!!??!! Oh well. Anyhow......our newest puppy is almost 7 months old, and practically house broken. That was a definite plus, but would have been a bigger plus if it was COMPLETELY house broken. So far, no accidents this weekend. He is a boxer too (we sure love our boxers!!!) and is a fawn color. He looks a lot like his "daddy" my parent's boxer Max. Our new puppy's name is HENRY. He is very sweet, I will say. He is laid back and calm, and cute, just like our Maggie, but a different color. Time will tell what will happen, and if we have 2 dogs or 3. But, for today, things seem to be going well, and our Jackson isn't crying anymore. Ugh! I hope I don't lose my sanity with all of these doggone pets! Maggie seems to be taking to him pretty well. She is kind of like, "Who is this NEW dog, and I hope he understands that I am the QUEEN around here!" LOL! But, they're getting along well. Henry is a little skiddish because everything is new and different. He finally ate some food tonight, and is really taking to Jackson. Go figure! That's the one he needs to thank for being here! And, funny, he is taking up to John too! It's not that I don't want him here, because I think he's a cutie pie, it's just I don't really feel like finishing the house training on a new pet. Oh well, such is life. And, Jackson is happy and really that's all that matters to me right now. I just want healthy, happy children. So, if this puppy will help, then I guess I can live with that.
