He Shoots! HE SCORES!!!!!! And the Crowd Goes Wild!!!!!!

Last night, Jackson had a basketball game up at our school. He really likes playing, and has been doing pretty good with each position he's tried. He was a bit frustrated at first, because he said that he always has to sit out the first period, and he didn't understand why. I explained to him, that every boy gets to play, and each one has to take a turn to sit out. He seemed to understand, but he is our "Action Jackson" and wants to be in there where it's busy, not on the sidelines watching! In reality, he only sat out for a total (the entire night) of 8 minutes, so I don't know what he's upset about! LOL! Anyhow, he did get in to play, and during the 2nd period, got a basket for his team!!! WAHOOO!!!!! Later on, an opponent from the blue team, fouled him, and he was given 2 free throw shots. He sunk the first one, and the 2nd one bounced off the rim. At intermission, the kids all got drinks and took a break, and he seemd pretty pleased with himself for his 3 points!

Jackson actually got a lot of floor time last night. And, he did good at his different positions. All of the kids did a great job, in fact. The game was a close one, and went back and forth all 4 quarters. The last quarter, our team was ahead by 1 point and the score was 19 to 18 our lead. During the last 30 seconds of the 4th quarter, the opposing team, got the ball charged down court, shot, and scored, making the score 20 to 19. The fans for our side were a little bummed, because we were probably going to have a loss, even though it had been a close game! BUT....our boys got the rebound, charged down court, and had a bit of a chance to try to do something. Another little boy, Austin, passed the ball to Jackson, who squared himself, shot, and with 6 SECONDS LEFT on the ticker, sunk the final shot of the game!!!!! And, we ended up winning 21-20!!!!! WAHOOIE! Way to go Jackson!!! The crowd roared and clapped and it was great to hear that excitement for my son! We were all so excited, but that didn't compare to how is team reacted! They were yelling and saying "Hooray Jackson!" "WAY TO GO Jackson!" and they were hugging him, and slapping him on the back! It was neat! But, even then, the best part was the ENORMOUS smile on Jackson's adorable face! It was wonderful to see him light up like. And, he got to be the hero of the game! I think if those little boys could have lifted him up on their shoulders, they would have. Maybe when they're bigger and develop some upper body strength! But for now, that smile and team spirit says it all! GO VIKINGS!
