It's been a bit since I've blogged. But, I didn't want to miss the individual highlights that have taken place in the past few weeks. First of all, on November 26th, our sweet Daniel turned 6!!! I blogged earlier about his bowling party, but these are pics from his actual "real" birthday. A few of the funniest moments happened on this day. First of all, Daniel is quite, how shall we say, vocal in the things he likes, and dislikes. True to form, he totally took command of the party and it's itinerary. When my mom, & my cousin & her family got there, he informed us, "I want to open presents now!" So, we obliged. He was super excited about several of the things he got. He was excited about the Speed Racer DVD, and his Sliders Sorry game from Auntie Suzanne. But, he really flipped and was practically rendered speechless when he got the "Guess What I Am?" game. He had told Suzanne & I a week before about this game that he wanted, and he said it was called "Guess Your Heart Out". I'd never heard of it before, and I even googled it, but couldn't find it. Suzanne hadn't heard of it either. I thought, maybe he means, Guess Your Hideout. But, no google on that either. I asked him if he'd made the game up, and he said, "Yep. I did!" Goodness! Then, while shopping, I accidentally stumbled upon "Guess What I Am" and read the back of the box and it was just like he'd described! When he opened it, he was breathless, and said, "Oh, this, this OH it's it! Oh! Thank you Mommy & Daddy!!! Thank You!! It's the one I wanted!!" That was worth every penny! What a sweetheart!
After gifts, we were directed that, "Now, we will do the Pinata!" So, out to the garage to break open the Transformer pinata. We blindfold each child, let them have 3 turns, and then go from child to child. After that, we let the birthday boy be the one to break open the pinata un-blindfolded. Daniel looked like Pete Rose or something up there with his stance. At the end, he'd choke up, and SWING, and make contact each time! Then, after some candy poured out, he screamed "NOOOOO!!!! And, kept swinging like a madman! He was gonna BEAT every single piece out of that pinata if it was the last thing he did! It was hillarious, and I was trying to take pictures, and laugh, and he whacked the pinata and a piece of candy flew out and knocked me right in the forehead!!! Well, he was thorough! Ha!
After that, he went inside, and informed us, "We're gonna eat cake now!" So, we got it ready,
and as we placed the lighted candles in front of him, he demanded, "SING!" Such a funny kid! So, we did as we were told, and then he blew out the candles. I sure hope he gets what he wished for! We sure did when our handsome Daniel was born & completed our family! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL!!! We Love You!!!
