Meet The Teacher Night

I cannot believe how FAST summer went this year! We had such a great time hanging out, swimming, movie watching, and just enjoying the lazy days. BUT, all of that is over! The boys went last week, to meet their new teachers for this year. Noah had an Open House on Monday night. And, I opted to not take pictures of him there, because, well, you know that sometimes, it isn't very cool to have your mom snapping pictures when you're "cool".

However, on Tuesday night, I was able to snap away with Jackson and Daniel! They're still not "too old" for pics with their teachers and at their desks. Thank goodness! LOL!

Jackson is going into the 4th grade, and he was so excited to get the teacher he wanted this year! Mrs. Dawson is his teacher, and he's ready to tackle this school year!

Daniel is starting first grade! I have to admit that first grade has always been harder for me than kindergarten for each of the kids. There is just something about all day, every day that signifies to me that they're on their road to education. They aren't babies anymore, and it breaks my heart a little each time. It broke it even more this time, because, well, this is my last baby to head off to school all day every day. Ugh! Anyhow....we were so lucky this year to get Mrs. Simmons as Daniel's teacher! She's the same teacher that Jackson had for 1st grade. We really like her! Daniel was a bit nervous to start school, because he thought 1st grade would just be too hard! Mrs. Simmons assured Daniel that 1st grade was going to be great and he'd do just fine! Her kind words seemed to ease his fears a little bit! She's great!
Daniel was so super excited about first grade, because this was the year that he'd get his very own locker in the hallway!!!! He thinks he's such a big kid!!! How exciting for him to get to school and find his name on the apple for the locker that would be his very own all year! It's funny how little things like this can brighten their entire day!
